I like to try to keep up-to-date about recent recalls that could affect my family. The list here in addition to anything I post in the future is by no means exhaustive but I hope it will prove to be helpful to you. Most recent recalls will be listed first.

10/31/07 - 'Ugly Teeth' Party Favors - Violation of Lead Paint Standard. This recall is particularly disturbing, since lead is more readily absorbed through the mouth than through the skin. This product is one meant to be put in the mouth. Please make sure that your children are not in possession of this product!
10/31/07 - Elite Operations Toys - Violation of Lead Paint Standard
10/30/07 - Home Patio Sets - There have been reports of chairs collapsing, resulting in injuries due to falls.
10/25/07 - Bumbo International; Baby Sitter Seats - Risk of serious head injuries. Consumers should use the Bumbo seat at ground level, but should never leave a child unattended.

10/17/07 - Plow & Hearth; Aluminum Chimeneas - Fire and Burn Hazards
10/16/07 - 2007 Huffy Howler and Highland Bicycles - The bicycle crank can unexpectedly come off, causing the rider to lose control, fall and suffer serious injuries.
10/16/07 - Lochmead Dairy; Country Fresh Chocolate Premium Ice Cream - May contain undeclared almonds.
10/14/07 - Arko Veal Co., ;Ground Beef Products - Possible E. coli O157:H7 Contamination. The beef products were produced between Oct. 7 and Oct. 9, 2007, and were distributed to restaurants in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
10/13/07 - J & B Meats Corporation Inc., Ground Beef Products - Possible E. coli O157:H7 Contamination; were distributed to retail establishments nationwide.
10/12/07 - Dairy State Foods - May contain undeclared macadamia nuts.
10/12/07 - Ross Stores Inc.; Turtle Sprinklers - The turtle's body can fill with water, causing it to crack or explode, posing a laceration hazard.
10/12/07 - J.C. Penney Recalls Shag Rugs - The rugs fail to meet federal standards for flammability and could ignite.
10/11/07 - J.C. Penney Recalls Breyer Stirrup Ornaments - Surface paints on the ornaments contain excessive levels of lead.
10/11/07 - J.C. Penney Recalls Deluxe Art Sets - Surface paint on the outside of the wooden box contains excessive levels of lead.
10/11/07 - J.C. Penney Recalls Disney Winnie-the-Pooh Play Sets - Surface paints on the play sets contain excessive levels of lead.
10/11/07 - ConAgra Foods; Recall of frozen pot pie products - Possible Salmonella Contamination. Various brands are included in this recall, so please check the website and your freezers!
10/11/07 - Vintage Chocolates Inc.; Soy Milk Chocolate Bars - May contains undeclared traces of milk. This product would be dangerous for people with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk. Check website for more information.
10/9/07 - Kahoot Cub Scouts Totem Badges - The surface paints on the badges contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. Visit the website to determine if your child has one of these badges.
10/9/10 - Wegmans Food Markets, Inc; Food You Feel Good About Country Wheat Rolls - This product is being recalled because the package may actually contain potato rolls, which contain a milk allergen not declared on the label. This recall is of concern only to those who are allergic to milk.
10/9/07 - Christmas Tree Shops Inc.; Sequin Glitter Candles - The candle's exterior glitter coating can ignite, posing a fire hazard.
10/5/07 - Razor USA LLC; E300 Electric Scooters - Handlebars Can Detach Causing Loss of Control
10/5/07 - Campbell's Chunky Baked Potato With Cheddar & Bacon Bits - May contain pieces of hard plastic that present a choking hazard and may cause injury if swallowed. Check website for the can code of the recalled product.
