From time to time, 1-800-FLOWERS hires people to work from home as Sales and Service Specialists.
Sales and Service Specialists are the first contact customers have with the company. They are responsible for the handling of customer needs. They complete transactions, work with multiple software applications, follow up on promises and commitments in a timely manner and more.
Candidates need to meet the following qualifications:
Must be a resident and live in: Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas, New York, Ohio, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Illinois, Montana, Arizona, or Delaware.
Must be highly PC knowledgeable
Must have your own PC with a reliable high-speed Internet connection
Must be able to type 35 words per minute
Prior call center experience is best
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have a high school diploma or GED to apply
Strong written and verbal skills as well as fundamental math skills are required.
Have strong sales skills
Must be highly motivated and dependable

Internet Connection:
o High speed internet service (No Wireless or Satellite) that is VoIP compatible.
o Minimum upload speed must be 500 kbps
o Minimum download speed must be 1.5 mbps
Computer Hardware:
o 1.8 GHZ Processor ( minimum of a Pentium 4 processor or equivalent processor)
o 1 GB of RAM
o Sound card with speakers
o 17" Flat Panel Display recommended (capable of 1280 x 1024), 15" minimum
Telephone Requirement: Dedicated telephone line with the ability to disable features such as call waiting, forwarding, etc. No cellular/wireless phones are permitted.
Headsets Requirement: USB headset (PC compatible) with a built-in digital signal processor that has a noise-cancelling microphone. You will also need a good quality telephone headset compatible with your land line telephone.
Computer Software: Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 Operating system, Internet Explorer 6.0 or above, Microsoft Office, Antivirus Software, AIM and a personal email account with a professional user name.
Office Furniture: A sturdy desk and chair at a comfortable height with back support.
Battery Backup: UPS/Battery Power Supply including surge
Your workstation must be in a private, quiet area away from others.
